Motion passes in Senate

Motion in support of petition to halt implementation of TIAA CREF cuts for new faculty passed with 76% voting in favor:

The University Senate of Syracuse University, in support of a petition with over 350 signatures from its faculty and staff, calls upon the administration to halt implementation immediately of its recent decision to reduce the University’s automatic contributions to TIAA-CREF accounts for faculty and staff hired after January 1, 2022, and to engage in a robust discussion with faculty and staff, and with representative bodies like the full University Senate, including demonstration of budgetary need, before it is implemented.
