Unions & Allies
Organizations working alongside SU AAUP to support faculty, staff, and students at Syracuse University and beyond.
WHY SOLIDARITY MATTERS
Faculty rights and worker rights are inseparable. When adjunct faculty fight for fair pay, when graduate students organize for better conditions, when staff unions push back against arbitrary decisions — these struggles are our struggles too. A university that respects its workers respects its mission.
SU AAUP maintains relationships with the unions and organizations listed below. We encourage our members to learn about their work, attend their events, and support their campaigns.

The Faculty Senate is SU’s primary shared governance body, responsible for faculty representation in university policy decisions. While not a union, the Senate is a key venue for faculty voice and SU AAUP works closely with Senate members on shared priorities.
Visit Faculty Senate →Student Association (SA)
The SU Student Association is the undergraduate student government organization. SA advocates for student interests across academic and campus life issues and has been a partner in advocacy around shared governance, free speech, and academic freedom.
